Update 2/2/24

Our group attended both the Hamilton Zoning/Planning meeting and the Commissioners meeting. RCC Jeff Burrows came online and confirmed what we knew; that the county and city have been meeting, not publicly, regarding coordination regarding the YET unsubmitted high density development off Kurtz. Then on Wednesday, the RCC met regarding the easement through the Kurtz park property which now includes .5 acre of park land itself. Park board member Gary Leese was not aware of the additional land with park board recommendation on the easement. THERE IS A HUGE LACK OF TRANSPARENCY in our local governments; the RCC admitted they have been having meetings with the developers for months. OUTRAGEOUS! Numerous comments against this easement, much less park land, were voiced as were safety concerns. The RCC did agree to look at having reduced speed and signage of school zone. Jeff Burrows suggested the Hamilton School Board could be asked to build a road to the north side of their property. This would end the community gardens as well as greatly reducing soccer field area.

PLEASE COME AND VOICE YOUR BEING AGAINST THIS EASEMENT AND LOSS OF PARK LAND. Thursday, February 8th at 1 pm in the Ravalli Commissioners Meeting room.
